Festival of Discoveries, Images, and Puppets

16/11 — 21/11/26

Maison de la Marionnette, maison de la culture de Tournai, Halle aux draps

Biennale dedicated to contemporary practices in the field of puppetry and related art forms.

Every two years, Tournai is dedicated to pop art. From 16 to 21 november 2026, the Festival of Discoveries, Images, and Puppets returns for a new edition: six days of performances in theaters, in public spaces, and off-site.

Founded in 2001, the festival introduces you to the dynamics of puppetry and related art forms, both in Belgium and internationally.

Also this year, puppets, objects and shadow plays will make you laugh, make you think, make you shudder and make you dream, at the intersection of the Performing Arts and the visual arts.

The 2026 edition showcases mature and daring works, including Hen by Johanny Bert and, in its Belgian premiere, History of Love by Agrupación Señor Serrano.
It also reflects the vitality of the creative scene in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, from Cordelia ou la chair ingrate, Désir Road and La Grande Vague to Dachshund rebelle! and Les Veilleuses.
The festival also features events for all ages, a spotlight on creative works from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, and, on November 19, to wrap up the festivities, the Cabaret Matières Subversives.

The festival is an initiative of the Puppet Centre of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, the Créa-Théâtre and the Museum of marionette art.

In co-production with the maison de la culture of Tournai and the Fabrique de Théâtre, and with the support of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, the city of Tournai, the Province of Hainaut, the WBI, the WBTD and our media partners Notélé and Vivacité.
